Roseville Memorial Club Remembrance Day ceremony

14 November 2014

On Tuesday 11 November at 11am, Crimson Hill attended the Roseville Memorial Club Remembrance Day ceremony and laid a poppy to mark the occasion.

The event drew a larger crowd than in previous years with more than 120 people in attendance. Alongside the 24 local high school student representatives were The Honourable Paul Fletcher MP, The Honourable Barry O’Farrell, The Honourable Jonathon O’Dea, Deputy Mayor Chantel Fornari-Orsmond, the local Roseville Scouts, Roseville RSL Sub Branch members, Roseville Memorial Club members, Returned Defence Members and families.

Mike Askew, RSL Sub Branch president said at the ceremony that ‘The Roseville Memorial sea of poppies could rival the sea of poppies at the Towner of London and it shows that as the years go on, it’s still a special day to remember those who fought, have fallen and those who returned’.

Crimson Hill has a three-year community partnership with the Club and will continue with this into the Centenary of Gallipoli next year.
