Art takes flight at Crimson Hill

1st July 2014

DHA has commissioned internationally-celebrated Sydney-based artist Jason Wing to develop a mural as a central feature of Dunstan Grove. Jason was highly recommended to DHA by Architectus, the architecture firm behind Dunstan Grove.

The artwork will be fashioned by sand blasting a stencil pattern into a 40m long feature concrete wall that crosses the central landscaped open space.

Jason has spent time researching the site and says responding to the local environment and paying respect to the site’s Indigenous heritage is a key part of the artwork.

“I think it’s really important to make sure the artwork visually, historically and socially relates to its environment, as well as the residential and community lifestyle of the development,” says Jason.
